Position Title: Field Service Technician

- North Haven, CT
- Travel 50%
- Company Vehicle and Gas Card Provided
- Overnight Travel Required

The Field Service Technician has the responsibility for the operation and control of equipment used in air separation, vacuum swing absorption and carbon dioxide plants; also accountability for the care and maintenance of plant mechanical, instrumentation and electrical devices and equipment. The position will provide support to various types of processing plants in order to support startups, training and leave coverage for normal production technicians.

- Monitors and maintains the safe operation of an Airgas Production Facility which produces cryogenic or gaseous products.
- Controls flow purities, pressures process using HMI/PLC system. May include remote monitoring of small plants and trips to sites to restart and troubleshoot operating problems.
- When providing operational support coverage, prepare and maintain accurate records in accordance with all safety, quality, regulatory and production requirements, such as plant readings, plant maintenance, instrument calibrations in alignment with local instructions and systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot, instrumentation systems, and calibrations in accordance with manufacturers' instructions, local work instructions and governing regulations.
- Install, maintain, adjust and repair manual, pneumatic, electric and electronic measuring, recording, and regulating instrumentation.
- Maintain, troubleshoot and perform maintenance on compressors, pumps, turbines, valves, motors, and other plant equipment
- Perform quality assurance functions associated with products to maintain quality assurance according to local instructions and as needed during coverage events.
- Maintain calibration standards, including inspection, testing and measuring
equipment as well as calibration gas cylinders.
- Perform routine and non-routine analytical calibrations and adjustments.

- High school diploma or equivalent.Technical or Associate's Degree is a plus.
- Minimum of two (2) years of industrial field service experience, preferably in
refrigeration, commercial HVAC, gas generation systems.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Ability to perform regulator repairs, repair piping/liquid leaks, isa plus.
- Ability to read blueprints and design specifications, manufacturer drawings, architectural drawings related to bulk delivery sites associated with customer installations.

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, material safety data sheets, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
- Lives by Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and all related rules, regulations, procedures which are applicable to this position's responsibilities.
Preferred:
- HVAC or refrigeration certification or American Society Safety Engineers (ASSE)
Medical Gas Credentials are a plus.
- Prior electrical, welding, brazing experience is a plus.
- Experience with bulk and medical gas and cryogenic systems and equipment is a plus.

- Electrical up to 480V is required

- Use of multi meter is required
